A conversation about JFK with ex-Secret Service agent Bill Carter

On the 50th anniversary of the death of President John F. Kennedy, Jim Bessman offers this interview with Bill Carter discussing the historic event.

“It’s understandably a stressful time for Bill Carter.”

Bessman goes on to explain,

“While he was in Washington, D.C., on November 22, 1963, he was quickly assigned to Lee Harvey Oswald’s wife Marina, whom he put into protective custody in Dallas immediately after the assassination. He later testified before the Warren Commission investigating the assassination, and recounts these experiences, and so many more throughout his entire career, in his own 2006 memoir Get Carter–Backstage In History From JFK’s Assassination To The Rolling Stones.

Contrary to the beliefs of so many, Carter has always maintained that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone. He spoke candidly and thoughtfully about President John F. Kennedy earlier this week, from his home near Nashville in Lebanon, Tenn.”
